Danny Dear Service Centre has been a trusted name in Ottawa automotive repair for decades, built on a tradition of hard work, honesty, and community care. We take pride in being a family owned garage.

Danny Dear opened its doors in 1977 at the intersection of Bank and Riverdale. Following 10 years at that location, in 1988, he moved to the Alta Vista neighbourhood, as a British Petroleum Service Station. Long before computerized systems and modern equipment, the shop was built on hands-on service—tire changes in all weather, early morning starts, and full-service gas pumping where customer care came first.

As the business grew, so did its reputation. Known for dependable repairs, fair treatment, and a strong work ethic, Danny Dear built lasting relationships with customers who continue to return today—many now bringing in the next generation.

In 1998, the Alta Vista station closed as the industry evolved, and the business relocated to Industrial Avenue. Despite changes in technology and the automotive world, the same values remain at the core: quality workmanship, honest service, and treating every vehicle like it matters—as if it was owned by family.

In 2026, the service centre made its final move to 2600 Sheffield Road, a larger facility designed to better serve an ever-growing client base and expand service capacity for both automotive and small engine repair.

Today, Danny Dear Service Centre continues to serve the community with automotive repair, small engine service, and a team of experienced technicians carrying forward a legacy built over decades. The tools have changed, the technology has evolved—but the commitment to customers has stayed the same.
